Day 88
Name: Al-Mughni
This name is very similar to Ar-Razzaq, the provider but is direct in Allah being the enricher or All things. Allah provides everything and every time these provision are enriched, this by Allah, Al-Mugni.
Allah is Al-Mugni, the one who  gives wealth, who provides all that is needed, whose wealth fulfills all needs, who enriches all of creation, who creates all appearances of independence or self-sufficiency, who bestows satisfaction and contentment and who bestows spiritual wealth. Allah is the only one who provides any and everything we get on this earth, if you are rich in monetary means, Allah has provided this for you. If you are rich spiritually, Allah has uplifted this for you. In whatever you have gained, Allah has given it to you.
This is something that we as Muslim must not lose sight of, inshallah. When we have a slight increase in our monies, or get into professional school, or have any increase in our life as a whole, we sometimes begin to think like the man in Surah Al-Kahf. We start to think that our success and gains are from us alone, that we have done it ourselves. But this is not the case, Allah has placed you where you are at today and has given you everything you have. It is easy to say that Allah has provided us with food, water and shelter but when it comes to gaining in success, our tongues hesitate a bit.
I went through four grueling years in college and now I am entering Medical School because of my hard work and dedication I have gotten there. But who is the one that provided you with the ability to get where you are at today? Who is the one that provided you with the opportunity to go to college?
I came to this country poor and now I am a successful businessman due to my hard work and perseverance. But who is the one that made this transition easy for you was it you yourself or the one that created you?
Allah is the one and only enricher and only if we can keep this in our mind can our hearts be softened with gratitude.

“Indeed, your Lord extends provision for whom He wills and restricts [it]. Indeed He is ever, concerning His servants, Acquainted and Seeing” 17:30

Day 89Name: Al-ManiThis attribute of Allah refers to Allah’s ability of preventing things from occuring, preventing harm. Just like Allah is Al-Jami’ and puts things together, Allah prevents things from occuring and mixing (Al-Mani). A good example of this characteristic of Allah is in Surah Rahman, when Allah says:“He released the two seas, meeting [side by side]; Between them is a barrier [so] neither of them transgresses.” [55:19-20]. Allah prevents the two seas from mixing. Allah created the barrier. Allah keeps everything in its own place. Allah keeps the universes and the sky raised and prevents them from falling on us. Allah keeps the beasts in their places deep within the jungles and prevents them from roaming our neighborhoods. All these things don’t happen cause of human technology or our efforts or anything, it is all Allah, Al-Jami’ and Al-Mani’, who holds everything in its place. Human beings can never take over and control natural phenomenon. Human beings will never be able to control rain, or control the orbits of the planets, or the millions of internal processes that occur within our bodies simultaneously. If Allah wants the sun to come closer to Earth and engulf this planet, who can stop this form happening? If Allah wants to do harm to a person, who can stop him? No one. If Allah wants to take away sustenance from someone, who could stop him? If Allah wanted to take someone’s life away who could stop him? All control is in Allah’s hands, and he is the most wise, the most merciful. If he takes away from anyone, is he withholds anything from anyone, it was meant to befall us. If Allah blesses us an grants us something, nothing could stop that blessing from coming our way.Like Allah says in the Qur’an, “Or who is it that could be an army for you to aid you other than the Most Merciful? The disbelievers are not but in delusion. Or who is it that could provide for you if He withheld His provision? But they have persisted in insolence and aversion.” [67:20-21]
